Patchwork Pet Bed

My cat sure loves to sleep on pillows and anything fleece, this Patchwork Pet Bed would be perfect for him. Jenny Ryan, author of Sew Darn Cute created this Patchwork Pet Bed sewing project posted on Apartment Therapy. This is a pretty inexpensive project, you can re-use old sweaters or go thrifting to find some sweaters to cut up. Follow the step-by-step tutorial over at Apartment Therapy to make your pet it’s own little snuggly bed.

Wino Corkboard

Upcycle wine corks into a corkboard used to hold notes and keys. I found this project on Green Upgrager. All you need are a bunch of wine bottle corks, a frame and some hooks if you’d like to use it to hold your keys. I’m going to start saving my wine corks from now on to make this project.

Floppy Disc Greeting Card

Turn an old floppy disc into a turntable greeting card. Build/Make/Craft/Bake is the creator of this greeting card and posted a step-by-step tutorial on how to create one for yourself. Floppy disc craft tutorials are on the rise, this is one of my favorites by far.

Photo Coasters

These photo coasters are a really cute and practical way to display your artwork. Or if you aren’t much of a photographer you can purchase the artist Julie Birkemeier’s work. She is a very talented photographer and crafter. The coasters are made out of a ceramic tile, cork backing and sealed with varnish. I found this link via Craftershock.

Furoshiki

I had never heard of Furoshiki before until I came across a post on Betz White’s blog where she talks about an eco-friendly way to wrap a gift. Furoshiki is a Japanese technique for wrapping cloth. I found a really neat blog called My Furoshiki that talks about all the different techniques to use. This would be a great eco-friendly and creative way to wrap that next gift you give.

Childrens Animal Art

Turn your child’s artwork into beautiful animal art. Sarah Jane Studios created some free animal templates you can use to turn fingerpaintings into an elephant, sparrow or a seal. I found this link via Apartment Therapy. This would be a great way to decorate your children’s room.
