Candle Holder Tutorial

In response to reader megan bayliss’s request I have found a great tutorial on how to make candle holders from tin cans. You can find a tutorial on Apartment Therapy all you need is an empty coffee can, can opener, spray paint and tea light candles. You use the can opener to punch holes and make a design in your can.

I remember making lanterns just like these in Girl Scout camp, but we punched small holes into the can. I’m sure you can take something like a phillips head screwdriver or something sharper to make smaller holes if you don’t like the big can opener holes.

4th of July luminaries

These luminaries are made by using balloons, I thought this was the neatest way to make these. Once you create your mold you put a tea light in them. Head over to candletech.com for a tutorial. This would be great to use for your 4th of July cookout at night time. You could even make these for other holidays and just change the color.

Ice Candles

I remember making candles like these when i went to girl scout camp many years ago. I always wanted to create them again but I never found a tutorial. Well I found one on Cut Out and Keep. This is sooo easy to make, all you need are crayon shavings to melt and make wax, ice cubes, wicks, and dixie cups or any kind of mold you’d like. You could make them really colorful with different color crayons.
