Thanksgiving Placemats

I remember making Thanksgiving placemats every year when I was in elementary school. One placemat had the hand print on it where you turn your fingers into the turkey’s feathers. Well this apple placemat is easy enough for a kid to do, but it looks so stylish! Instead of an apple you could make one with a bunch of fruits and veggies, a cornocopia or a turkey. Check out Book Hour Craft Projects blog for the full tutorial.

Corn Husks Door Decoration

Last minute Thanksgiving decorations! If you are having Thanksgiving at your house this multicolored corn husk decoration would be perfect to greet your guests. I found another great tutorial on the Martha Stewart Living website on how to create this. So if you have time on your hands today…get going!

Pom Pom Turkeys

Martha Stewart Living has some great Thanksgiving decoration ideas, such as these PomPom Turkeys. There is a picture how to and video how to on the website. I really like the idea of using them as a place card holder with the name in the turkey’s beak. Or these would just make a really cute centerpiece. This would be a fun project to work on with kids.

Custom Cookie Cutters

Finding the perfect shaped cookie cutter for a particular holiday can sometimes be hard, if you already have a shape in mind. And wouldn’t you want a one of a kind shape anyways? Well, Juggling Frogs has a tutorial on how to create your very own custom cookie cutter using clip art or your own drawing. For Thanksgiving I can picture a cornucopia, a pilgrim hat, or maybe you want to spell out HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
